Brickell History Walking Tour – Miami Circle
May 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
$15.00
This tour will begin at the Miami Circle, an area once known as Brickell Point, named for the family who settled at the mouth of the Miami River in 1871. Learn about the Tequesta tribe that were the earliest documented inhabitants of this quarter and about the family for whom the neighborhood is named. Visit the family mausoleum in Brickell Park, the historic First Presbyterian Church, and the buildings that replaced the mostly residential neighborhood to make it a high-rise commercial and residential center.
Following the walking tour, the group will convene at BBQ & Craft to see a presentation of old photos of the area that were featured during the tour. Each attendee will be given a $10 coupon to apply to the entrée of their choice for lunch. We can continue the conversation over BBQ for those who choose to stay for lunch.
Cost: $15.00 (plus fees and sales tax)
Tour Guide: Casey M. Piket
