Julia and Frances Tuttle

On April 12, 1897, Frances, daughter of Julia Tuttle, married Charles Conrad Saunders at old Fort Dallas. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend E.V. Blackman.

Frances, or also referred to as Fannie, moved to the shores of the Miami River with her mother and brother in 1890. The cover photo is of Julia and Frances around the time they made the move to Fort Dallas. The area that was referred to as Fort Dallas would incorporate as Miami in 1896.
